The Pulmostent Consortium held its 4th Conference

On the 4th and 5th of September, the Pulmostent consortium came together in Utrecht to discuss the progress of the project. The conference was hosted by Utrecht University in the David de Wied building. The topics included all aspects of the current stent design. Presentations were held by all the partners about their current progress and results. Over the two day conference, the partners had an in-depth discussion regarding the results thus far as well as next steps in all facets of the Pulmostent project.

UKA and ITA presented PulmoStent at TERMIS-EU

On June 17-20, the European Chapter Meeting of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS-EU 2013) held a conference in Istanbul. The meeting brought together scientist from both industry and academia. The four day meeting covered the following topics: Biomaterials; Scaffold Designs and Fabrication Technologies; Tissues and Cells; Stem Cells Science; Genetic Modifications and Regulations; Bioreactors; Bioactive Agents; Animal Models; Clinical Trials; Sensors and Arrays for Molecular Follow-ups; Bioimaging; Nanoapproaches; Bioprinting; Biomimetics and Bioinspration and more.

At the conference, Lena Thiebes in collaboration with Institut für Textiltechnik of RWTH Aachen University held an oral presentation entitled "The BioStent - from vascular to pulmonary application". The BioStent was the predecessor to the Pulmostent and its design was the basis for the Pulmostent.
